Help with connecting and using TapEdit for Payload.
Connect your site
Your site needs the TapEdit plugin for Payload 3. In TapEdit, choose Add Site and then Send to Your Developer, which shares the plugin and a short setup guide. Your developer adds tapeditPlugin() to the plugins array in payload.config.ts and deploys. Then open /api/kladd/pair on your site while signed in to the admin, and scan the code with TapEdit.
Common problems
"The TapEdit plugin isn't installed on this site" The plugin is missing, or the site hasn't been redeployed since it was added.
"You don't have permission to do that" Your Payload user lacks access to that collection. Ask the site's admin.
A field isn't shown TapEdit shows the fields it can edit well on a phone. Everything else stays in the web admin.
Signing in fails on a site hosted on Cloudflare Workers Payload 3.92 and later hash passwords with more PBKDF2 iterations than Workers allow, so password sign-ins fail with "Something went wrong". Stay on Payload 3.88 until Payload changes this.
