What TapEdit for Payload stores and sends, and what it does not.
The short version
TapEdit has no account system, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer does not run a server for the app and receives no data from it. The app talks only to the Payload sites you connect it to.
Who we are
TapEdit for Payload ("TapEdit") is an iPhone app for editing websites built on Payload CMS, made by Filip Johansen, Oslo, Norway.
What stays on your iPhone
- The address of each site you connect, and the sign-in key that site issues to this phone. The key is kept in the iOS Keychain.
- A list of the pages you edited recently, so the app and its home-screen widget can show them. It never leaves the device.
- Unsaved drafts, until you save or discard them.
What goes to the sites you connect
When you sign in, browse or save, TapEdit sends your requests and edits to that site's Payload server, together with the device type ("iPhone") so the site can list it under connected devices. That server is run by the site's owner, not by TapEdit, and its own privacy policy applies.
If the site's owner has turned on the writing assistant, the text you ask it to work on is sent to that site, which forwards it to the AI provider the owner has configured. TapEdit itself has no contact with that provider.
Camera
The camera is used only to scan the sign-in code shown in your site's admin. Frames are read on the device and are not stored or sent anywhere.
Removing your data
Signing out of a site in Settings deletes its key from the phone and from the site. Deleting the app removes everything else it stored.
Children
TapEdit is a tool for website editors and is not directed at children.
